Luke Hayman is English but considers himself a New Yorker since moving to the city 21 years ago.

Before joining Pentagram as partner in 2006 he bounced around between design firms and magazines. Most recently he was the design director of New York magazine where he was fortunate enough to be able to work on its relaunch with legendary editor Adam Moss. Hayman has also held the role of creative director at small magazines such as the design publication I.D. and larger ones like Travel + Leisure. Hayman has worked at boutique design firms like Design Writing Research and large agencies such as Ogilvy.

At Pentagram, Hayman still jumps between editorial work and identity design. He and his team have worked on over 25 publication redesigns varying from Foreign Affairs to Cosmo. Clients include several universities (Stanford, University of Chicago, Columbia), Time Inc., Hearst, Condé Nast, Meredith, and a few abroad such as Gruner & Jahr in Hamburg and the Kahleej Times in Dubai.
